Programs

The MayeDay Family Foundation has launched programs in New England to benefit children and families. The foundation continues to add new initiatives throughout the year to positively impact those in need.

Empowering Young Lives: Child Life in Oncology

Children undergoing cancer treatment face unique emotional and psychological challenges. The MayeDay Family Foundation has made a three-year commitment to fund a Child Life Therapist on the oncology floor at Boston Children’s Hospital. This role is crucial for providing personalized psychosocial support to young patients and their families. Engagement activities include friendly visits and interactive sessions with patients to uplift their spirits through play and conversation.

Combating Food Insecurity for a Healthier Tomorrow

Nearly one-third of Massachusetts children face food insecurity, affecting their physical and mental health. To combat this, the MayeDay Family Foundation has partnered with the Shaw’s and Star Market Foundation to sustain and expand vital programs like the Family Food Connection and Social Work Meal Vouchers operated by Boston Children’s Hospital. These initiatives directly support families and alleviate hunger, fostering a healthier community.
